My name is Kim Burkey and I have been diagnosed with triple-negative, invasive ductal carcinoma. Say that three times. Actually don’t. I don’t like to hear it. Just say breast cancer. Better yet, just cancer. We don’t need to say breast. I’ve been encouraged by many to start some sort of blog or Facebook page to update everyone interested in our story. So here’s our story, in all of its glory. I’m sure on some days this will get raw. My brain is already mush, so good luck reading and not judging my their, they’re and theres.
So glad you’re doing this, Kimmy💚💚 Praying for your journey!

Kim, I have been lifting you , Tim, the girls, the whole Burkey family and the whole Gustafson family up in prayer every day for about 2 weeks now. Just know that you are all being bathed in prayer by so many, many people who love you. MAY GOD BE GLORIFIED THROUGH THIS ENTIRE JOURNEY

I know the topic isn’t funny – but you, my friend, are hilarious. “We don’t need to say breast”. Haha. Love you. Miss you. Praying.

I’ll be following you and praying for you Kim. Just found your site last night after a rough night for me. I am so encouraged by it. I am 33, married, a mom to a 2 year old son, and I’ve had a heartbreaking miscarriage before as well (my heart really goes out to you there…I know how painful that is). I was diagnosed with stage IIA HER2+ invasive ductal carcinoma last month, and just began my chemo on 9/9. I’m also getting the shots Zoladex and Neulasta during my treatment. I was looking around for some blogs, any blogs, that I could relate to. And here you are. This is me (or at least, this is my old blog): thischildsmom.wordpress.com *Praying that you beat this thing!*
